Things to do

Places to see and explore in the beautiful Norfolk countryside.

Walking

There are lots of walks in the area. We have OS maps that you can borrow. If you would like to walk directly from Chalk and Cheese we can recommend several lovely local walks taking in the village (20 mins), the church and field views (45 mins) and the warren (60-120 mins).

Beaches

The Norfolk coastline is less than an hour away (45mins by car). Many coast walks, watersports, sealife centre and coastal towns to visit.

Shopping

Shouldham Antiques, Gifts and Interiors newly opened village interiors store selling gifts, crafts, cards, antiques, books  and vintage - open Thursdays through to Sundays or by appointment with Bridget. As well as our own antiques store there are also many other local hidden gems and emporia to be explored during your visit. more

Downham Market and Swaffham both offer a range of shops with King’s Lynn and Norwich offering a more extensive choice.

Holt is worth the journey for its boutiques, antique emporia and wonderful food hall at Larners (Norfolk’s own “Fortnum and Mason”!)
